Schooling Show Dates

March 9
April 13

Our goal for these events is to give riders a new way to improve skills, practice for the show ring, get comfortable with friendly competition, and just have a little fun!

All the shows will be judged by a licensed horse show official. Each show will offer three levels of classes, so you can rise with individuals that have similar experience. You will have an opportunity to ride in a regular class as well as a class that will work a pattern following rail work. Lesson horses will mainly be used; however, show horses will be used at Mary's discretion.

As for attire, we suggest the following: working jodhpur pants of hunt or saddleseat type, paddock or jod boots, hip length sweater-type top, gloves, helmets (mandatory) for hunt riders. Hair should be nearly done up in a ponytail / French braid, etc. Makeup should be heavier than everyday wear, but tasteful. Since schooling show days will be very busy, Chris and Mary will not have time to individually do hair and makeup. However, they will be available for touch-ups and questions. If you have questions about attire and appearance, please do not hesitate to ask before the show date!

Now, we know that some of the best competition is right here in our own barn - and all of our riders are winners - so classes will be placed, but all riders will receive ribbons - appropriately BLUE! We expect that the competitive environment will be mutually supportive, exciting and fulfilling!

ADULTS (over 18 years) will be judged on horsemanship as opposed to equitation, how well you control and get the most from your mount, and how well you use the arena and present a total picture.

WALK-TROT (under 12 years) - riders that have not shown in any walk/trot/canter classes.

HUNTER HACK - This class will consist of rail work and then two jumps.

With the exception of walk/troy, all classes will be walk/trot/canter. Horse choice will be determined by Mary, with each rider's best interest at heart.

Fee: $85 per person - includes 2 classes in one seat. Each additional class is $20. Please sign up and prepay one week prior to each show.
